Picture this: a super romantic beach proposal was happening right on the sandy shores of Myrtle Beach. Everything was all lovey-dovey until the guy's engagement ring decided to go on an adventure and got lost in the sand.
But don't sweat it, because our local heroes, the police, and a determined teenager with a metal detector, teamed up like they were in an action movie. They went on a mission that would make any treasure hunter proud, and guess what? They found that precious engagement ring and made sure it got back to the lovebirds. Epic save, right?

Just last month, on the sunny shores of Myrtle Beach, Beach Patrol Officer PFC John Lively had a moment that's worth sharing. He was out and about when a guy from Tennessee waved him down in a bit of a panic. Turns out, this fella had lost his engagement ring somewhere in the sand.
The story went like this: they were on a romantic photo tour of the beach, snapping pics at various spots. But when they hit their last location, he suddenly noticed that his precious ring had made a break for it from his pocket.
Three officers immediately started canvasing the previous photography areas on the beach. After starting the search, PFC Shon McCluskey, and K9 Goggles showed up to use the incident as a training exercise for Goggles.
During their search for the ring, a 15-year-old with a metal detector overheard what was going on and jumped into action.
Isaiah Krekeler told a local news station that he was hanging out with friends when "someone walks over and says, 'Hey, someone lost a ring over there'."
Krekeler said it was his first time using a metal detector on the beach and the ring was discovered in about 45 seconds.
"I felt like I saved a marriage," the teen joked.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department added, "for those of you wondering, she said yes!"
