High School Athlete Passes Away Within 24 Hours Of Leukemia Diagnosis At Just 16 Years Old, RIP

A Philadelphia family is left devastated and in disbelief after their 16-year-old son, Kyle Limper, passed away within 24 hours of being diagnosed with leukemia. According to reports, Kyle died peacefully on April 13th due to a blood infection caused by the cancer that was discovered that same day. His obituary describes him as a completely healthy and happy young man with no sign of illness prior to his diagnosis, and the sudden loss has left the family living a "nightmare."

As per reports, Kyle's father, Ken Limper, took him to urgent care for back pain after playing basketball, and then to Jefferson Hospital. Doctors there told him to bring his son back if he did not improve within a couple of days. However, Kyle's condition worsened quickly, and he could no longer stand up or even get out of bed. He was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where doctors informed the family that his organs were shutting down from leukemia.

Sadly, within just 24 hours of arriving at the hospital, Kyle passed away, leaving behind a grieving family and community.

Ken Limper expressed that the whole experience was like a horrific nightmare, as the situation rapidly deteriorated with each passing moment. Jodi Taffe, Kyle Limper's mother, also shared with Fox 29 that she wouldn't wish this kind of feeling or situation on anyone.

The family is raising money on GoFundMe for funeral expenses, the station reported.

Kyle’s obituary describes him as a football player at Kensington High School who also ran track and wrestled while making the honor roll many times.

He had dreams of playing college football and studying criminal law to work for the FBI or a crime scene investigation unit. Limper was so interested in the field that he planned to study with real CSI agents in Washington, DC, this summer, according to his obituary.

“This all stemmed from his love of superheroes, which he wanted to be,” his family wrote. “He wanted to stop all the evil in this world and to put the criminals behind bars so that people could live their lives safely. As always, Kyle was thinking of everyone else.”

The teen was also remembered for his “selflessness, generosity, friendship and love.”

May Kyle rest in peace. Please share.
