High School Choir Spots Dead Soldier's Body Being Taken Off Plane, Honors Him In A Special Way.

On a flight to Atlanta, Diane Hollified Cupp had an experience that she will remember for the rest of her life.

Diane Hollified Cupp resides in Johnson City, Tennessee but she was taking a vacation with her husband in Europe, visiting some of the historic sites connected to World War II. During one of the tours, the guide described how soldiers’ remains are found there all the time.

However, on her flight back home, she never thought she would be in the presence of a war hero. When the flight from Germany landed in Atlanta, the plane's captain announced that an Army private was onboard escorting the remains of a WWII soldier to his final resting place in Houston, Texas. And this person would get the honor of getting off the plane first.

As the Army Private departed the plane with the war hero's remains, the Iowa Ambassadors of Music Choir was onboard and decided to pay their respects to the veteran. They all stood from their seats and began singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Not a more honorable departure could have been planned for the World War II hero and his Army private escort. And Cupp caught the awe-inspiring moment on camera…

When the video begins, you can hear the young high school performers singing:

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

They repeat the chorus of the famous Battle Hymn of the Republic several times with harmonic variations.

Cupp uploaded the video to her Facebook page and shared the following about the moment:

“On our flight from Germany there was an Army private in uniform that so happen to be escorting the remains of a WW11 Soldier back home to Houston. The pilot announced he would be exiting the plane first, as he got up to leave there were a group of young people who had been on tour in Europe all of a sudden they broke out singing Glory Hallelujah. Listen how beautiful!! Will bring a tear to your eye.”

If you watch carefully, you can see the choir director conducting the high school singers in the back of the plane.

Cupp and the other passengers on board were touched by the young people’s display of respect for the WWII veteran and the United States military.

“To see those young people do that just melted my heart,” Cupp told WSB-TV. “It was absolutely beautiful, to see the respect that these kids had, I just had to capture it,” Cupp said. “It was an awesome treat for me and something I will never forget.”

Cupp posted the video to her Facebook page where it has since gotten more than 1.8 million views. News agencies picked up the story and shared it with others around the country.

As some commenters wrote on YouTube:

“These Millennials are first class human beings with their heads screwed on straight,” James Ray wrote.

“Although he’s not alive to know what’s going on,  the choir’s actions set a good example for everyone else to follow regarding the life of a human being (regardless of whether that person was a soldier),” Brandon E. Smith shared.

What do you think about this choir’s special attention to the deceased veteran?
