Dog 400 days to find forever, finally gets adopted by ‘New Girl’ TV star Max Greenfield

Every dog wants to find a loving forever home, but fate has its own timeline, and some dogs endure longer waits than others to be adopted. It's not uncommon for some dogs to patiently wait for months or even years before their dream of a forever home becomes a reality.

Such was the case for a special dog named Darlin, whose wait reached over 400 days, as reported by the nonprofit animal rescue organization, Wags and Walks. Despite spending considerable time in foster care, Darlin had yet to find that perfect permanent home that she longed for.

However, Darlin's heartwarming tale took a magical turn recently when she captured the heart of a familiar face from TV screens. None other than the TV star, Max Greenfield, became enamored with Darlin and decided to give her the true Hollywood ending she deserved by adopting her into his home.

Greenfield is best known for his Emmy-nominated role as Schmidt on the sitcom New Girl, and currently stars on the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood. He has also acted in films like The Big Short and Promising Young Woman.

Greenfield and his wife Tess Sanchez recently adopted Darlin, and say it’s a perfect match. “Darlin is a million dollar dog. We knew she was the one the first day we brought her home!” the couple said, according to Wags and Walks.

The actor shared a photo on Instagram of him and Sanchez with their sweet new addition to the family. (They slightly changed her name to “Darlene.”)

Sanchez also shared her own post: “We love her so much. She is a real lady,” she wrote in the caption, thanking Wags and Walks for introducing them.

Wags and Walks, which has a branch in LA, has had some high-profile celebrity supporters over the years. Actor Chris Pine adopted his dog from the shelter last year, and Sir Patrick Stewart is a foster and serves on the board of directors.
