If you are 18 to 29 years old and stressful life events have worn you down, you are not alone. Millennials are having an especially challenging time managing stress, as only 29% say they are coping well. The major stressors taking a toll on wellbeing throughout America include money struggles, work challenges, worry over conflict-ridden relationships, and personal or family health concerns. 

When your life is burdened by daily stress, you can end up with migraines, heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, diabetes, and weight gain. While you can’t always control the external events in your life, you do have power over your reactions. By practicing stress-relieving coping tactics, you can lower your blood pressure, improve your mood, and elevate your quality of life.  Lifestyle changes such as going for daily walks, practicing deep breathing, and writing gratitude lists can be good starts toward a healthier life.
