It's Wedding Season - Suit Up! [INFOGRAPHIC]
One would think that by now, we wouldn’t have to advise people that you can’t wear brown shoes with a black belt or visa versa. No matter which suit you choose and which other add-ons you pick to spruce things up, if you plan on wearing a belt, make sure you follow the golden rule of belts. But what if my belt is neither black nor brown? Ahh, great question — and one that is easily answered. As the old saying tells us, black goes with anything. So, if you’ve decided to kick it up a notch with a pastel belt, an oxblood belt, or even a patterned belt, your shoes should be black.
Now to the rest of your ensemble: if you’re getting out of the box with your look, you don’t want to end up looking like Matthew Lesko (FREE MONEY!). If your socks, belt, tie, and pocket square are too disparate, the look goes from trendsetter to weirdo in three seconds flat. Keep your accessories in the same color family and tie it up with a perfectly tailored suit. Oula.
