Kathy Schutt’s life was changed in a flash when her son Tyler passed away in a very tragic and unexpected way.
Tyler was having serious complications when he attempted to hang himself. He survived the initial hanging, however due to the huge amount of oxygen lost to his brain, he became a quadriplegic and eventually lost his life.
Doctors informed his mother Kathy that there were traces of a violet flower, which is normally found in a garden, inside of her son's body. She had no clue he was sucking on seeds from a morning glory flower and storing the packets in his room.
Kathy was also unaware that these seeds can produce a cheap and easily accessible high — and coming down from it can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts.
The more Kathy learned, the more she became dedicated to warning other parents about the unlikely substance.
There have been many other cases of young people turning to seeds, even boasting about their “euphoric” experiences in YouTube videos.
