Check Your House: If You Have Any Of These 8 VHS Tapes, You Can Retire Now…

Do you remember the days when VCRs and video tapes ruled the living room? This was before DVD or Blu-ray; when you had to physically rewind the tape when you were finished watching. A simpler time, before Netflix gave us a reason to never leave the couch.

Well, if you remember renting a movie at Blockbuster, then you probably remember stocking all of those old video tapes in the closet to collect dust. What you may not know is that those discarded tapes could be worth more than your car!

As with many collectors items, these obsolete videos have multiplied in value over time. What was once bought for a few bucks can now be sold for thousands!

Check to see if you have any of these classics– because you might be sitting on a gold mine.

“Dumbo”

The lovable elephant will make you a profit even bigger than his ears, with one copy selling for $2,800 on eBay.

“Aladdin”

Robin Williams may not grant you three wishes, but having a Black Diamond copy of the 1993 classic could turn you into a prince! Selling for up to $10,000, it may be worth cleaning out the closet.

“Cinderella”

The Walt Disney children’s classic is a magical tale, but the only “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo” you’ll need is eBay. This past June a Black Diamond VHS copy of the 1950 film sold for over $5,000.

“The Jungle Book”

Copies of the classic are going for close to $1,000, more than enough for the bare necessities.

“Beauty and the Beast”

$17,000. A Black Diamond Edition of “Beauty and the Beast” sold for $17,000 in June. No jokes to be made here, just a huge amount of money.

“The Fox and the Hound”

If this movie has made you cry just about enough for one lifetime, selling it is the best option. An unopened copy of the 1981 VHS sold for $10,000! Hopefully making up for all of those tears.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”

There have been many different editions made of this film since its 1937 release. However, if you happen to have the 1994 Masterpiece Collection Edition, you could be looking to make close to $1,000.

“The Hunchback of Notre Dame”

While this film was never my favorite, selling it for $1,500 might move it up on the list.

Many more classics are now worth 10 times their original value as well. Check the closet TODAY and see if you are lucky enough to own one of these valuable VHS tapes!
