Distressed Boy Calls 911, Community Is Shocked By What Cop Does When He Arrives

When Lakeland, Florida police officer Matthew Ervin responded to a 911 call from a distraught boy reporting that his 6-year-old sister Serenity's bicycle had just been stolen, he realized that the chances of recovering the bike were remote.
That's why Ervin didn't just take a report: he also took matters into his own hands.
WFLA News reports that Ervin went to a local Walmart, bought a brand new bike for Serenity — in purple, just like the one she had stolen — and brought it to her home.
"I just think it's unacceptable for a kid to not have a bicycle, especially in summer." Officer Ervin told WFLA. "I think every kid deserves a bike,"
"The police officer was nice," Serenity said in an interview with WFLA. "He went to Walmart and bought me another (bike). I took a picture with the officer, and then I hugged him."
"Stuff like that is why I love this job and why I do this job," Ervin continued. "It's nice when you can actually make a real positive difference and help someone out, and make a difference, especially in a child's life."
