Anti-Christian liberals and atheists aren’t a new phenomenon, by any stretch. When legendary screen actor John Wayne was in his prime, he made a brilliant speech about the Pledge of Allegiance after a Hollywood liberal tried to tell him how to honor the American flag.
The fight to remove God from everything we say or do, including the Pledge of Allegiance, has been waged for decades.
While studies show that only the tiniest sliver of Americans take issue with saying the word “God” in the classic tribute to the flag, many government bodies have cowed to the atheist’s demands. Catering to minority groupsis what the U.S. government specializes in these days.
But not The Duke.
After reciting the Pledge, he explained what each section of the pledge meant to him and what it should mean to American citizens — even the ones who choose not to believe in God.
“One nation under God,” Wayne said. “A land where freedom of worship, is a cornerstone of her being. A land graced with temples and churches, synagogues and alters, that rise in profusion, to embrace all the religions of the world.” (H/T Conservative Post)
It’s too bad that Wayne didn’t live long enough to see how bad the godless liberal stronghold of Hollywood would truly become. There’s no doubt that he wouldn’t have had a problem setting people straight, because nobody in Tinsel Town at that time adored this great nation more than Wayne.
He bled red, white and blue in his movies and his personal life, which made him one of America’s most beloved cowboys.
