The recipe is very specific, and following every instruction down tot the last detail is crucial to come out with an end product that is just the way you expect it to be.
The first thing you need to make sure of is that you have a baking sheet that is 17 inches by 11 inches. This is crucial for the recipe because this size pan will allow you to cook the right amount of meat that you will use for the patties.
If you use a smaller pan, you will have less meat, which will throw off the entire recipe unless everything else is proportionally reduced as well.
Next, you will want to pick up the following ingredients next time you stop at the grocery store:
3/4 pound of Ground Beef, preferably one that is 80/20 lean to fat
1/2 cup of Beef broth, you might need more depending on your meat
1 additional cup of Beef Brother for the steaming process
1/2 cup of water for the steaming process
12 dinner rolls (get small ones)
8 to 10 thin slices of American Cheese
3 to 5 tablespoons of minced or chopped onions
salt and pepper to taste
Mix your beef broth with the meat to get it nice and mushy. You want to get the meat to a consistency that is easy to form, but something that isn’t falling apart.
Take you meat out, and then spread it on the baking sheet. Your meat layer will be thin. Take a rolling pin and roll it over the meat to get it nice and even and spread out. You are going to want to get the meat spread all along the pan.
Next, take a knife and cut the slab of meat into 18 square pieces, and poke five holes into each of the squares. This will prepare them for the steaming process. Now, freeze you pan of meet until it is firm but not frozen.
Now, take you mixture of beef broth for the steaming process, and place it onto the liquid for the steaming process. Put it in the oven at 450 degrees until the meat starts to turn brown, it should take about 7 to 10 minutes.
Now, layer up the meat slabs with your buns, cheese, and pickles. Stick it back in the oven for about five minutes, and then they will be set to eat!
