Don't worry about fixing a five course meal for your guests at the next dinner party. There's a way easier to impress them that doesn't involve slaving over the stove for hours trying to fix complicated recipes.
The answer is the slow cooker, and it has nothing to do with using it for a main course.
Sarah Olson from The Magical Slow Cooker used her Crock-Pot to make a CAKE!
It might sound a little nuts, but once you see how well it works you'll never want to make a complicated dessert recipe again!
"I never made a dump cake in my slow cooker before this one, and I'm hooked, the possibilities are endless," Sarah wrote on her blog post about the project.
Sarah explained that any flavor combination is possible paired with the basic yellow cake mix, but she chose to try and white chocolate cherry dump cake that is just as yummy as it sounds!
She started by first adding a large can of cherry pie filling to the bottom of cooker.
Then, on top of that she put the whole bag of yellow cake mix.
The rest is simple. All she had to put on top of that was a stick of melted butter, some cooking oil, and white chocolate chips!
All she had to do after that was was put the lid on the slow cooker, turn the setting to high, and let the whole thing bake for about three hours.
When the center sets, the cake is done! There is really nothing else to do than spoon it onto a plate with some vanilla ice cream and enjoy the delicious creations!
Plus, the best part about the whole thing is that all you have to do is dump all the ingredients -- there's no stirring required at all.
It's so great if you want something sweet but have nothing else going on because it requires basically no work!
"I have turned into a lazy baker since I had my daughter," Sarah wrote. "I would be in the kitchen for hours getting every dish dirty in my kitchen. Not anymore! I may not make another dessert besides a dump cake for a long time!"
