Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Crafting Your Own Cozy Pajama Shorts!

You know what's awesome about learning to sew? You can whip up all sorts of things like pillowcases, blankets, sheets, and even clothes! I'm all about making my own threads because I get to pick out the fabric and style exactly how I like it. Lately, I've been hooked on making these adorable pajama shorts by Rosery Apparel over on YouTube.
Here's what you'll need to make those comfy pajama shorts:
Fabric
Scissors
Rotary cutter and cutting mat
Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
Needle and thread
Fabric pins
Iron for pressing
Elastic
Sewing machine

Now, let's get into the nitty-gritty of sewing these simple pajama shorts:

Step 1
Download the pattern here and cut out the template pieces, then cut out the fabric, and make sure to pay attention to the notches or the little triangles drawn on the side. First, start by sewing the pocket to the front and back pieces first, then open the fabric, and press it down the seams nicely.
Step 2
Fold both pieces again with their right sides facing, then pin them in place, and sew the short ends or the crotch area. Turn one piece of the short right side out, then insert it into the other piece so that their right sides are facing, and make sure to line them up nicely.
Step 3
Pin them all over the sides, then stitch along the curve as shown in the video, and then measure and cut the elastic that you need. Fold the top of the waistband and press it down as demonstrated in the video, then stitch it leaving a small opening. In that opening, insert the elastic, and lastly, fold and stitch the hem of the shorts.
