Heart pounding video shows hero rescuing baby in stroller rolling onto busy highway
A heart-stopping video that has gone viral shows an unnamed homeless man rushing to save a baby in a stroller from rolling onto a six-lane California highway. The footage, captured on Monday in Hesperia, shows a woman in horror as her stroller begins to roll away while she exits her car in a parking lot. She trips while trying to catch up with the stroller and falls face-first onto the sidewalk.
As she struggles to get back on her feet, the stroller continues rolling in high winds toward the highway. With the stroller mere feet from speeding cars, a man dressed in black rushes in from the right and manages to stop it just in time. Viewers of the video have praised the man's heroic actions, with one saying, "You are the man!" Another person added, "Perfect timing—at the right place and the right time." The hero was later identified as Ron Nessman, who had recently overcome several years of homelessness and was in the area for a job interview. Nessman told a local station that he saw the stroller rolling and knew he had to act fast.

“And I’m thankful for that because I really wouldn’t want to see the end result if I wasn’t there,” he said.
The woman who lost control of the stroller — the baby’s great-aunt — injured her knees in her falls, said Nessman, who was seen hugging her once he safely returned the uninjured baby.
“She tried everything she possibly could to get up,” Nessman said.
“Her knees were bleeding when I got up to her. She was still shocked and she was crying,” he said.
One copy of the clip shared on Twitter had been viewed more than 56 million times by Thursday, with commentators saying they watched “with my heart in my throat” and “Man it’s like one of those dreams where you can’t run!”.
