Teen's Prom Date Has Melted Everyone's Hearts - His 89-Year-Old Great-Grandmother!

Delores Dennison, an incredible 89-year-old great-grandmother, had always regretted never being able to attend her prom as a teenager over 70 years ago. But her great-grandson, Austin, decided to right that wrong by making her dream come true and asking her to be his date to his high school prom.
When Austin broached the idea, Delores was absolutely thrilled and couldn't believe her luck. "I asked Grandma if she would be my date to the prom and she said that she would be honored," the high school football player said in an interview with the Times Bulletin. "I told her that it would be my privilege."
But there was a small hitch- Delores had recently suffered both a heart attack and stroke, and was worried she wouldn't be well enough to attend the big event. However, this fearless lady wasn't going to let anything stop her from enjoying this magical night with her great-grandson. In the end, she made it to the prom and it was a night neither of them will ever forget.

Austin got the idea to take Delores to prom after hearing a story from his teacher about someone doing the same thing. The adorable pair received a standing ovation when they stepped onto the dance floor, and the night was a magical experience for Delores.
The evening began with Austin serenading Delores with a song, “Iris” by the Goo Good Dolls, before they headed to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants.
Delores even bought herself a new dress for the occasion, and Austin got her a new necklace to complete the look.
At the prom, they danced to Frank Sinatra’s “Delores,” a special song that Austin’s great-grandfather often sang to Delores when he was alive.
Their heartwarming story quickly went viral and was covered by several news stations. Both Delores and Austin said they had the time of their lives, and the evening couldn’t have been more perfect for them.
