Nanny permanently injured after she saves baby from speeding car about to run him over

Caroline Maurer has been the devoted babysitter of a little boy named Fox since he was only 4 months old. Recently, her life changed forever as she save Fox from a speeding car.
Caroline placed Fox (now 2 years old) into his stroller and took him for a trip through his Los Angeles neighborhood. Suddenly, a car sped through the four-way stop sign and toward Caroline and Fox.
Fox and the stroller were positioned in front and Caroline had to act quickly to save the little boy from being struck. Screaming for the driver to stop, Caroline threw herself between the car and the stroller, sacrificing her body to save Fox.

The speeding car slammed into Caroline, crushing her hands and tossing her backwards through the air. Fox suffer a few minor bruises, but Caroline’s hands, wrists, and arms all suffered severe fractures. Heartbroken, Caroline realized her injuries were so bad she couldn’t even lift the little boy to comfort him after the accident.
Caroline spent two weeks in the hospital recovering from her injuries followed by two more weeks in physical rehabilitation. She continued physical therapy after rehab, but will never regain the same ability to user her hands that she had before the accident.
Fox’s parents are forever indebted to Caroline for saving the life of their boy. Learn more about Caroline’s heroic act in the full news video below.
