Mother of 9 children graduates Med School and is set to become a neurosurgeon
Sarah Merrill a 41-year-old mother of 9 enrolled in medical school when her youngest child was 4-years-old. She received her medical degree this month from the Phoenix, Arizona-based Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. But she still has work to do!
Merrill intends to practice neurosurgery. She was able to graduate with her beloved husband and children standing at her side. At the moment, her kids range in age from 8 to 20 and every single one of them is so excited for their mother.
The Merrill family are now on their way to Indiana, where Sarah become a neurosurgeon resident at Indiana University next month.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Sarah said “It’s going to be a new challenge, a new adventure, but everybody is on board and I think we have a great support system.”
