But sadly, very young people also die from this virus.
A New York firefighter is now in mourning after his 5-month-old daughter passed away from coronavirus.
Little Jay-Natalie La Santa was only a week away from turning five months old when she passed away due to complications from COVID-19, according to the family’s GoFundMe page.

“One of the worst experiences as a parent is to go through the loss of a child. It is with extreme sorrow to announce the passing of Jay-Natalie La Santa (5 months) daughter of our newest member to the Department and to the FDNY Hispanic Society family, Jerel and Lindsey La Santa,” the FDNY Hispanic Society wrote on an Instagram post.
According to her family, the little warrior fought coronavirus in a very courageous way.
“Her fight inspired all of the nurses, doctors and staff members that knew her. Her purpose was served and she was called home on 4/20/2020. We thought we were having a baby, but had an angel instead”.
Her family describes Jay-Natalie as a toddler who loved music and enjoyed hearing it during bath time and car rides. She loved to be sung to, enjoyed watching bright colors, hearing mommy and daddy’s voice.
Daneille La Santa, the organizer of the GoFundMe page, said that donations is welcome due to ”overwhelming” hospitalization costs. There will also be a Facebook live virtual service for Jay on May 2.
