Sweet Caretaker Shows Baby Elephants The Meaning Of Love After Losing Their Parent (Video)
By Mike-Ross

A woman's motherly instincts kicked into gear when she saw that two baby elephants were in need of affection. Just when they needed her the most after losing their own mother, these elephants listened carefully to what this woman had to share with them. They were exhausted and uptight without their mother around, but this woman had compassion for them, which lead her to do something truly remarkable. Instead of simply being there for them to watch out for them, she went above and beyond. She slowly walked towards the baby elephants with an idea of how they might cheer up, but no one could have known just how well it would work.

Living in the peaceful environments of the Winga Baw Elephant Camp, these two baby elephants named Aya Mye and Mary were kept safe. Without a father or mother around to protect them, they paid extra close attention to their caretaker named Lek. Knowing the needs of these elephants went beyond the basic necessities of food, water, and shelter, Lek drew near in order to sing a song. It was not just any song, however, but a lullaby. Pouring her heart into a song, all in hopes of keeping them calm, she noticed their shocking reaction. She took the opportunity to love them like her very own, and it came with a beautiful reward. With a gentle touch, Lek stroked the calves and they loved every bit of attention she gave them. It seemed as if her lullaby was just the thing to put them at ease, but then something happened which made Lek's heart shatter.

After doing everything she possibly could to make them feel at home, their reaction let her know exactly how they felt deep down. Her stunning lullaby came to an end, but watch the way these elephants respond in the sweetest video below.
