Woman Sees Coworker’s Birthday Bouquet, Floored By What It Really Was
When a gorgeous flower arrangement showed up at the office, every female employee in the place secretly hoped it was for them. However, when one woman looked at the note, she not only realized that she wasn’t the lucky recipient, but read that the birthday bouquet for her coworker from the woman’s husband, wasn’t what it seemed.
While birthdays are for celebrating and definitely a great time to let someone know you’re thinking about them, Kayla Miller was floored to discover the details behind the arrangement. The surprise for her friend soon turned into heartache, when she learned the meaning behind the husband’s thoughtful gesture.
In a post written for Love What Matters, Kayla explained the situation she found herself in the middle of, along with a message for women not to sell themselves short and only expect the utmost respect from a man. Attached to a massive assortment of roses, Kayla found the note with an unusual sentiment, considering who it was for and the person who sent it. The coworker’s husband had passed away two years ago, but for every holiday and birthday, his now widowed wife receives a reminder of his love for her, from beyond the grave.

“Before he passed he lined all of this up for her so she wouldn’t feel alone on those days that would be the hardest to spend apart,” Kayla explained in sharing a photo of the flowers. She was so touched by what this man had done for the love of his life, but something else stood out to her.
Kayla decided that this arrangement needed to be shared to send the message to other women and girls that true love is still real, and you shouldn’t settle for anything less than an authentic connection. “You don’t have to settle for someone because you think no one else will love you,” she said before explaining the deeply personal reasons people do.
“You don’t have to put up with being cheated on or lied to or being talked down to. You are a prize to be won, and there is someone out there that will love you forever and even through the afterlife,” Kayla wrote after seeing too many women fall victim to their emotions or insecurities and selling themselves short through who they give their heart to.
The impressed coworker was reminded that real lasting love isn’t an antiquated thing that’s not attainable in today’s society. It takes time to grow those deep roots of affection, but once planted, they’ll never cease to blossom, even after your partner is gone. The selfish and fast-paced world we live in today doesn’t allow for waiting for the right one, favoring whoever is there right now.
The success of a person starts at home, where relationships are cultivated and children learn and benefit from their parent’s interactions with each other. If more couples were like Kayla’s coworker, steeped in true love and respect, thinking of others before themselves, imagine the impact that would have on society.
