[PIC] Man Receives Odd Note, Gets ‘Christmas Present’ He NEVER Saw Coming

A picture is going viral after a man discovered a note when he came home one day and decided to post it online. After unexpectedly finding it, well, let’s just say he got an early “Christmas gift” this year that he never saw coming.
The original image was posted to Reddit and simply shows a note written in what appears to have been a Sharpie marker. The picture also came with an accompanying description reading, “Found this note from my landlord in my mailbox yesterday, and it’s just too awesome not to share!”
According to the claim, a man named Mike would be blown out of the water by what the unexpected letter actually had to say. As it turns out, it was from his landlord, who actually shed a little bit of light onto the story.
In the letter, the landlord, only known as Jack, first states, “I know you guys have been having trouble being between jobs these past few months and I just wanted to thank you for always being current on the rent.” He then went on to spread a little good cheer by saying, “So my gift for you and yours is that I’m waiving your December rent so you can give your family a good and decent Christmas this year.”
How’s that for a Christmas present? Mike surely sounds deserving of such a gift, according to the note.
There are a few things worth noting here that other news websites failed to acknowledge, the first of which being that the Redditor who posted the picture has since deleted his account. Secondly, looking into the original Reddit post, it seems the person responsible for posting the image was called out as a liar, as he released a few photos that seemed to contradict his “this happened to me” narrative.
That being said, seeing how he’s flat-out deleted his account, it doesn’t look too good. However, a great many people have shared the image since it proves to be quite the “feel good” story. The only problem is, before the Redditor left for good, he didn’t exactly admit to lying, so for now, it remains – as previously noted – a simple claim.
The image has been viewed over 2.5 million times with most people having positive things to say. You know, in this day and age, it seems to be a rarity that people are wholly consumed by themselves. So, to see a fellow human being taking the time out to make someone else’s day is incredible.
I don’t think that anyone would argue that the world could use a few more people like this landlord in it, if he does indeed exist. I’d like to believe that there are still good people left in this world, and a story like this — true or not — may just inspire someone to do something nice this holiday season.
