Live Aid was a dual-venue concert held simultaneously in Philadelphia and London, with the purpose of raising relief funds for Ethiopian famine. Queen took to the London stage, and the band’s charismatic frontman, Freddie Mercury, immediately got to work unifying and mesmerizing over 72,000 people in the crowd. It was estimated that the broadcast had an estimated 1.9 billion viewers worldwide!
