Teen Saw 2 Cops at Chili’s and Dropped a Napkin on Their Table. She Had No Idea What She Started…
By Dreamer

When two Kansas City Police Officers went to a local Chili’s for lunch, they were dumbfounded by what happened next.
Officer Quinn and Captain Sims were in the middle of lunch when a teenage girl unexpectedly approached their booth.

Captain Rance Quinn and Captain George Sims were surrounded by community members while eating their meal when a teenage girl leaving the restaurant dropped them a note. On it read a simple message:

“Thanks for keeping us safe.”

Unfortunately, before the men had time to react and give her a thumbs up, she was gone.
Then, a mom approached them with her two small children and a humble request:
“[She] tells us that her 5-year-old son who is deaf always wanted to meet a police officer. We interacted with our young friend. They walked off. As we finished our meals and asked for our checks the waitress told us the table behind us bought our food. That was the table that left us our note. The waitress spoke about how much she supported us and could not thank us enough. What great people.”
But the good deeds didn’t stop there — as the two officers got up to leave, another woman had something to say to them:
“[We were] headed toward the front door and were stopped by the lady who introduced us to her son. She handed my coworker and I a gift card and told us how she really appreciated what we do. She spoke of her family in the military and she supports the military and law enforcement.
She went on to say she always wanted to join but she is also deaf and could not. As I looked at her I could see true emotion in her eyes and she appeared to be tearing up. We tried to refuse the cards but she was having none of it. She said she wanted to buy our dinner but the other table did and bought us the cards instead. She left as we walked out.”
In hopes of finding these Good Samaritans and thanking them in person, the officers posted their story on the Kansas City Police Department Facebook page — and the community’s response was, once again, incredible.
Thanks kept pouring in from Facebook users:

Officer Quinn tells Fox 4 News in the video that he’s carried that napkin ever since and has one simple message of his own to the teen who wrote it:
“The message you gave to us that day was powerful. Don’t ever change who you are. Keep that with you through the rest of your life.”
