He Cuts An X Into These Peaches And The Reason For It? Genius!

When the summer sun starts to shine, there are few things better than going outside on your back porch and biting into a juicy peach. When that sweet nectar juice runs down your chin and the sun shines in your face, you’re living in heaven on earth. There’s just nothing better.

But while we are quick to enjoy peaches and their summer symbolism during the warm months of June, July, and August, what if we want to get a bite of that summer bliss when it’s colder out?

Now you can enjoy summer peaches all year long if you store them in this genius way. You just need a few items and the following directions. Then you’ll be able to eat summer peaches even in the winter. Learn how below…

After you’ve got a collection of peaches ready to be stored, you’ll need a:

Knife
Boiling pot of water
Bowl of ice water
Cookie sheet
Plastic wrap
Freezer container

To get started and to preserve your peaches for the year, make an X into each peach with a paring knife. Then dip your cut peaches into the boiling water for about 30 seconds each.

TIP: Place up to four peaches into the pot of boiling water at a time to make this process go faster.

Remove the peaches after 30 seconds, then quickly put them into the ice bath. After they’ve cooled, remove their skins.

After the skin has been taken off your summer peaches, remove the pit and cut the fruit into even sections.

Lay out your peach slices on a baking sheet. Don’t let them touch each other. Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and then put them in your freezer overnight.

In the morning, remove the tray and put your peach slices into a freezer-safe, airtight container. Now you can go in and have some fresh sliced peaches any time of the year.

The quick video below gives you all the instructions step by step. Just watch it to follow along and preserve your summer peaches for every season of the year.

What can you do with your frozen peach slices?

When you’re craving some peach, turn your freshly, frozen peach slices into a tropical drink. Or perhaps a peach cobbler in the middle of winter or autumn sounds perfect.

But how about a 5-minute healthy peach frozen yogurt?

It’s easy. Transfer several slices of frozen peach, honey, yogurt, and lemon juice into a blender or food processor. Process the mixture until it is all very creamy. This takes about 5 minutes. Then just serve your delicious dessert. It’s a great way to have a healthy snack after a delicious meal.

Do you have summer peaches you need to freeze? Are you going to try this method?

Many people agree it’s super easy to do!

“I had a lot of peaches lying around that I wasn’t going to be able to eat before they spoiled. It was easy to follow these directions. Now I’ve got peaches for later in the year. Thanks!”
