He Puts Two Pallets Together To Create THIS For The Backyard. This Is Perfect For Summer!
By Dreamer

There’s a crucial reason you should keep to spare wooden pallets hanging in your backyard, and it has everything to do with relaxation!
Popular YouTuber Kip Kay shared how he used the wooden pieces to create a DIY summer pallet swing bed that’s better than any hammock you’ve ever seen!
He uses the wooden boards and an actual mattress to create a backyard sanctuary that you could spend every moment of your summer vacation (any every weekend in between) napping on!
Plus, the best part is that anyone (who has a tree to hang it from) can make it!
He started the project by grabbing two extra large pallets in good condition.

Kip said he had to clean them up a little bit before getting started and also took out a few slates that were old and not benefiting the structure at all.
Once that was done, he laid the pieces end to end and measured their lengths and width so that the pallets combined would be able to hold a full-size mattress.

Then, Kip marked off what the sizes needed to be and cut the wood to that length.

After screwing the two ends of the pallets together, Kip added three support boards beneath the slats and also screwed those in place.

Next, he used a larger drill bit to create holes large enough to fit rope in the four corners of the pallet platform.
Once that was done, he moved the whole project underneath a tree in his backyard and started to hang up the pallet using rope.

Kip said he needed to hang it at the right level so that it wasn’t too high to climb up on.
At this point the project is already impressive, but he didn’t stop there. Kip went on to add the full-size mattress to the platform and added covers to protect it from the element.

Then, he covered it with a cozy comforter and pillow and started enjoying the new outdoor furniture immediately!

The bed is such a cool alternative to the classic backyard hammock and is ten times more comfortable!
