Fallen Marine Was Being Shipped Home In A Fedex Box Until These Bikers Stepped In And Did THIS!

After seven tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Marine Staff Sergeant Jonathan Turner, finally returned home. In celebration of a lost brother, the Marine Corp paid for the service and cremation. However, when it was discovered that FedEx would be delivering the ashes to his family in College Park, Georgia, it was an unlikely band of heroes that stepped forward to honor one of America’s fallen. Turner had completed 17 years of service, and now this leader, hero, and friend would perform one last mission.

This heart-warming tale of honor and commitment begins in Temecula, California, when Staff Sergeant Jonathan Turner died 2 years after being medically discharged. The injuries he had received on in battle had taken his life, but they could not destroy the spirit of his legacy. That spirit cried out until it reached the ears of a volunteer riders association known as the Patriot Guard Riders. Members of the group promptly aquired Turner’s remains and began mapping the cross-country trek to College Park, where a mother and father waited to embrace their beloved son.

It would be a 2,000-mile ride, but after learning Turner’s family could not afford to attend the funeral, the Patriot Guard accepted the mission to carry the soldier home. Riders met at state lines to pass on Turner’s remains, holding a short ceremony to honor his memory. After the five days it had taken the package to reach Georgia, 200 Patriot Guard members had attended the journey, and unwittingly united a country.
