In the event of a car accident, the placement of your child’s car-seat harness can seriously effect the type of injury your child might experience. In an effort to spread the knowledge of proper harness placement, Heather Starr shared a story she had come across regarding a mother and her three year old child.
The child had recently been in a car accident, and had bruising on her chest from the clip of the car seat. Starr shared a photo of the young girls bruising, and explained that despite the unfortunate looking bruising, the bruising was exactly where it needed to be for a chest clip.
Many parents make the mistake of improperly strapping their child into their car seat. Having the proper knowledge of where to place the chest clip could potentially save a child’s life. In the event of an accident, a clip that was placed too high can potentially cause asphyxiation, and a clip that was placed too low can potentially cause internal bleeding. Since Starr has shared this photo on Facebook, it has gone viral. Every parent needs to know this important information!
