Craft Adorable Sock Turkeys for Thanksgiving!
By Mike-Ross

Holidays are the perfect time to get creative with the kids, especially when the boredom kicks in and they need something to do. Recently, when our relatives arrived from England, the house was buzzing with energy, and the kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement. I usually have craft projects prepped and ready to go, but amidst all the holiday prep, I completely forgot! Cue the moment of panic—but thankfully, I had a backup plan: my handy YouTube playlist of saved craft ideas.
I scrolled through my collection and found the perfect activity—sock turkeys! This adorable and budget-friendly craft only requires a few simple materials: old socks, rice, ribbon, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, feathers, and felt. With everything we needed already at home, I quickly gathered the supplies and set up a crafting station. The kids couldn’t wait to get started, and before I knew it, the house was filled with giggles and colorful turkey creations.

Not only was this craft super easy, but it also kept the kids entertained for hours. They loved stuffing the socks with rice, designing their turkeys, and giving each one its own quirky personality. It was heartwarming to see their creativity shine—and as a bonus, the sock turkeys turned out so cute that we decided to use them as part of our Thanksgiving table decorations.
If you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive, and mess-free craft to keep little ones occupied this holiday season, sock turkeys are a winner. Grab your supplies, gather the kids, and let the Thanksgiving crafting fun begin!
