'Tis the season for parties and get-togethers, and you know what makes them extra special? Handmade confetti poppers – they're way cuter and easier on the wallet than the store-bought ones!
What's awesome is that you can reuse this DIY party popper and keep the confetti fun going endlessly. Whether it's the 4th of July, Christmas, New Year, or someone's birthday bash, this little homemade gem is your go-to party sidekick. Check out the how-to in this video tutorial by One Little Project on YouTube.
Materials for Your DIY Party Confetti Popper:
Balloon (red, white, or blue)
Paper (white, red, blue)
Toilet paper roll
Confetti (store-bought or handmade)
Scissors
Tape
Glue tape
1-inch star puncher
How to Make Your DIY Party Confetti Popper:
Step 1:
Take a piece of balloon, tie a knot at the opening, and snip off about ½ inch from the tip. Stretch that balloon goodness over one end of a toilet paper roll and secure it with some tape.
Step 2:
Cut the white paper into a 6″x4½” rectangle (or wide enough to cover the entire paper roll). Then, slice the red paper into strips measuring about 6″x¼”, and the blue paper into 6″x1½” sections. Ready to bring the party vibes!

Step 3
Take your star puncher and punch out white stars, then tape the white paper around the paper roll, and attach the red and blue paper as shown in the video. Glue the stars over the blue paper and space them apart evenly.
Step 4
Now, put 2-3 tablespoons of confetti inside the tube, and you’re done. To use the popper, hold the knot and pull it down, then quickly let it go, and the confetti will fly through the air.
