In a touching story showcasing kindness and generosity, a fast food employee's selfless gesture is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Craig Paulk, a frequent patron of the Long John Silver's situated at the intersection of I-10 and De Zavala Road, had a routine of stopping by the restaurant for a quick meal after work. On a particular day, he found himself in a tricky situation after accidentally discarding his partial denture in the trash following his meal. Explaining the situation, Paulk said, "I broke my front tooth about five years ago. It's something I've never quite adjusted to.

So, I usually take it out, fold it in a napkin, and place it aside." Realizing the potential $600 expense of his mistake and the inconvenience of having to replace the lost denture, Paulk was determined to recover it. He approached Magano and asked if he could have the trash bag to search for his denture himself. However, Magano insisted on taking it upon herself to retrieve Paulk's personal belongings from the trash. Without hesitation, she put on gloves, rolled out the trash can, and carefully combed through the pile of discarded items until she found the missing denture.

Paulk expressed his gratitude for Magano's act of kindness. "I just wanted to thank you for your kindness, and my gratitude, you know, I couldn't express for what you did, to go through the trash for a stranger," he told FoxSanAntonio.com.

This remarkable story of compassion and selflessness did not go unnoticed. In a surprising turn of events, the incident led to a "Cash for Kindness" reward, organized by local media outlet Fox SA and sponsored by Veteran Air.

Ryan Wolf, a reporter from Fox SA, was present to capture the heartfelt moment when Paulk invited Magano to the restaurant on her day off.

Magano was presented with a stack of $100 bills amounting to $1,000.
