So, you know when you think about someone tackling Aretha Franklin's classic "Chain Of Fools," you're probably picturing this seasoned singer with years of belting it out, right? But then, bam, 12-year-old Gezel Bardossi grabs the mic to give it a shot, and let's just say, what went down next was nowhere near what anyone saw coming.
The judges shoot these amazed looks and share a few surprised words as she kicks off her performance. And guess who hits the button first? Yep, Jason Derulo couldn't believe it – his face was like a total "whoa" moment – as his chair swivels around. Seriously, that shock on his face is one of those things that's gonna stick around in memory lane for a good long while.
Jessica Mauboy was the next to press her button, with equally satisfying shock and amazement painted across her face.
Jessica and Jason continued to glance at one another in utter shock and awe at Gezel’s continued performance. Rita Ora, quickly followed by Guy Sebastian, both pressed almost simultaneously — unable to resist the awe-inspiring performance.
The performance continued to delight and inspire all in attendance — judges, audience and home viewers alike. As you might expect, upon the completion of her song, Gezel soaked in the roaring applause of a standing ovation. The young singer’s extraordinary performance was simply one for the ages.
