Audience Booed When Simon Cowell Stopped This Performance But The Result Has Them Singing Along.
By Mike-Ross

Cakra Khan's audition on "America's Got Talent" took an unexpected turn, perhaps not aligning with his initial expectations. As the 31-year-old contestant from Indonesia stepped onto the stage, he took a moment to introduce himself to the judges. During this exchange, it became evident that he held a deep passion for blues and soul music. Interestingly, when asked about his plans for the $1 million prize, he expressed his heartfelt desire to establish an animal shelter.
With his dream firmly in his mind, Cakra began to sing a poignant rendition of "Make It Rain." The audience responded enthusiastically to his unique, raspy voice, but Simon Cowell, one of the judges, didn't seem entirely moved by the performance. Cowell paused the music, leading some newfound fans of Cakra to express their disappointment with boos. He praised Cakra's undeniable vocal talent but admitted that the chosen song didn't resonate with him. Curious if Cakra had another song prepared, Cowell inquired, and fortunately, the talented singer was ready with an alternative piece to showcase his impressive abilities.
Hoping that the second time would be a charm, Cakra explained that he’d be singing “No Woman, No Cry,” a song his dad would frequently play before school. As excited as the audience initially was about his voice, they were all-the-more elated with this second performance. When the chorus hit and he asked them to sing along, they gladly did, creating a beautiful moment for them all.
“It’s so rare to hear voices like that,” Cowell said. “The second song, and getting to know you, makes you more interesting. It makes me feel like you’re more of an artist. I absolutely love your voice. Love it.”
