Elderly couple celebrates their 79th wedding anniversary as they both turn 100
By Mike-Ross

When young June and Hubert Malicote were married in 1943, they had no clue that they would remain partners for at least another 80 years.
June and Hubert were just 19 when they first met at church during World War II. It wasn’t long before they simply knew they were meant to be together.
Hubert was a sailor in the U.S. Navy, so their family plans had to be put on hold until peace time. Once the war was over, June and Hubert moved to Hamilton where they had three healthy children. Today, they have 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren!

“We’ve never really gone out much. When the kids were younger we were happy sitting around the table sharing stories about our day,” Hubert said in an interview with Today Parents. “We’ve had a wonderful life.”
Having survived everything from the Great Depression to COVID, the Malicotes know their strength comes directly from their love for each other.
