It’s no question that Simon Cowell is a tough judge. That’s why a few encouraging words or other positive feedback are such a gem!
In the episode of The X Factor UK below, Simon has a tough decision to make – carve out the final contestant group of just 6 finalists.
When Oliva Garcia steps on to the chopping block, she’s more than a little nervous. After introducing herself she says she “only hopes to make Simon proud.”
As the music picks up, Simon immediately recognizes her fear. “She’s so nervous,” he says as an aside to the other judges.
What happens next has the crowd roaring. It’s absolutely clear that Oliva has what it takes, and Simon knows it. What he says to her after the performance moves her to tears.
