Single Mother pleads for ride to doctor for son with brain tumor—Kind stranger gives her a car
By Mike-Ross

Nikole Osani was aware that something was wrong shortly after her son Canyon was born. His head seemed large for his size, he suffered from extended bouts of vomiting, and his eyes moved erratically. Nikole repeatedly expressed her concerns about these symptoms, but her doctors assured her that she was worreid about nothin.
But the doctors were wrong. Nikole’s instincts were spot on, Canyon was seriously ill. He had a brain tumor that was incurable, and the cancer had spread to his spinal cord. Since then, he has had at least six operations.
The 23-year-old single mother made one of the most challenging decisions of her life. She decided to leave her own apartment and move back in with her parents so she could focus on Canyon’s needs 24/7.

To make matter’s worse, the young mother didn’t have a car. That meant relying on friends, family, and expensive transportation to make the two-hour drive to the Johns Hopkins Hospital for Canyon’s chemotherapy.
Word of Nikole’s struggle spread through her local community until it reached Paul Matthews. Paul’s own son, Eli, had passed away following a brave battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia. To honor his son, Paul founded the Eli Seth Matthew’s Leukemia Foundation to help support families like his with a child battling cancer.
Once Paul heard about Nikole and Canyon he reached out to members of his foundation to see what could be done. That’s when recent police academy graduate Cynthia Mowery entered the story with a life changing offer.
