A third sister, age 7, passed away after house fire killed her sisters last month – rest in peace

A third sister has died after a house fire that ravaged her family’s home in Hilltop, Columbus, Ohio last month.

According to a tragic update offered by fire officials, 7-year-old Heaven Roebus passed away on Tuesday morning, a week and a half after the deaths of her two sisters, Diamond Roebuck, 10, and La’riyiah Roebuck, 8.

Heaven’s passing brings the death toll from the fire, which occurred on June 23, to four. The girls’ father, 22-year-old Robert Taylor, was also killed in the blaze.

As per NTD, the girls’ mother jumped from a second-floor window as the fire raged, desperately trying to attract firefighters’ attention so that they could enter the building to search for her daughters. She was taken to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, where she made a recovery.

After Heaven’s passing, the family’s aunt told ABC6: “It’s appropriate that Heaven was the last to let go, true to her fighting spirit until the end.”

Columbus Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter told how responding fire crews were met with heavy flames at the front of the home on the night of June 23. They were able to recover the three girls and their father, all of whom were on the second floor of the home, but Diamond, La’riyiah, and Robert, sadly died from their injuries soon after.

Reports following the fire detailed how Heaven was in an “extremely critical” condition. Sadly, her injuries proved too severe.

A GoFundMe page established by the family has so far accrued almost $7,000. It reads:

“These unpredictable situations have left our entire family in distress, we just ask that everyone continue to pray and support our family in this time of need.

The cause of the house fire is said to yet be under investigation, though is not being considered suspicious. Chief Geitter revealed that the home had no working smoke detectors at the time of the fire.

Rest in peace, Diamond, La’riyiah, Heaven, and Robert.

Everyone send heavy prayers to their loved ones. Share this story on Facebook if you wish to send your support to the mother of these three little girls.
