Couple forced under house arrest after they refuse to sign quarantine papers for coronavirus

A young couple were ordered to wear ankle bracelets after one tested positive for Covid-19 and after refusing to sign self-quarantine papers.

Elizabeth Linscott, from Kentucky, who tested positive for coronavirus and her husband were informed that if they travel more than 200 feet then the authorities would be called on them.

The mom of one was tested for the virus after she planned to visit her parents and grandparents in Michigan.

Although she didn't show any kind of symptoms she tested positive and soon after, the health department reached out, asking her to sign the documents.

“I agreed to comply to call the health department if I was to go. I was to call the health department if I was to leave my house for any reason,” she said.

Elizabeth chose to not sign the papers and then got a text message saying the matter would be escalated and law enforcement would be involved.

‘What the heck’s going on?’

A few days later her husband Isaiah answered the door to health department officials.

“I open up the door, and there’s like eight different people, five different cars, and I’m like ‘what the heck’s going on?’ This guy’s in a suit with a mask. It’s the Health Department guy, and they have three papers for us. For me, her and my daughter,” he said, as per ABC7 News.

The couple were ordered to wear ankle monitors and not to travel further than 200 feet.

“We didn’t rob a store. We didn’t steal anything. We didn’t hit and run. We didn’t do anything wrong,” Elizabeth said, as per News4 San Antonio.

The couple says they planned to be cautious and never denied self-quarantining but just didn’t agree with the wording of the documents.
