YouTube Prankster Who Gave A Homeless Man A “Toothpaste Oreo” Is Now Going To Prison

Some YouTube stars build a fan base by creating engaging, educational content that showcases their personality. People turn to them because they feel connected and love the stuff they show on their online channels. But when it comes to Spanish YouTube celebrity, Kanguhua Ren, 20, he gets viewers simply because he treats other human beings like garbage – and people love watching him do it.
In a series of videos that border on craziness, Ren, who was born in China but now lives in Barcelona, Spain, loves to pull pranks on unsuspecting victims. But it was one prank in particular – targeting a vulnerable homeless man – that has dealt him a serious blow.
After feeding a homeless victim an Oreo cookie filled with toothpaste instead of the usual cream filling, a judge in Barcelona found Ren guilty and sentenced him to 15 months in prison as well as demanding the YouTube celebrity pay his victim $22,300 in damages for the horrible prank.
While Ren was sentenced to prison, Spain usually goes easy on people like Ren because it is his first offense and it was ruled as non-violent.
Not only was Ren found guilty of his crime, but he has also been banned from YouTube and will not be able to host a channel as he had. That means his criminal activity has lost him a lot of potential money because he decided to play the prank on the vulnerable man. However, his ban is not permanent – it only lasts for five years.
The questionable video was posted to YouTube on January 2017 and showed him feeding his victim an Oreo cookie filled with toothpaste instead of the usual cream filling.
Ren filmed the homeless victim, Gheorge L., who ate the cookie and proceeded to vomit profusely afterward. In the video, Ren admits that he thinks he may have gone too far with this latest prank.
“But look at the positive side. This will help him clean his teeth,” the YouTuber said to the camera. “I think he hasn’t cleaned them since he became poor.”
Homeless Gheorge L. is originally from Romania. He fled the country as a political refugee when the communist dictator threatened him. He was hospitalized for mental health issues and had “never been treated so poorly while living on the street” until he met Ren.
Ren’s viewers did not like the content of this prank video. They thought the Chinese-born star had gone much too far. Because Ren is desperate to please his viewers, he returned to find Gheorge L. and offered him 20 euros. When that was not enough, he found Gheorge L’s daughter and offered her 300 euros to bribe her out of suing him.
YouTube paid Red $2,475 of ad money from the Oreo prank video. This proved to judge Rosa Aragonés that “this was not an isolated act” because Ren loved filming and posting his “cruel behaviors” for consumption on the internet.
Ren defended his content in court, saying “I do things to mount a show. People like what is morbid.”
