Homeless Guy Asked Cashier What He Could Order With $5, Hits A Nerve When Stranger Hears Cashier's Reply

Fast food restaurants are where people usually go when they need a quick bite or something affordable but cheap. They're not always praised for their quality service, but there are many kindhearted and hardworking people who can be found behind the counter.
One of them helped a man who wanted to buy a meal but only had a few dollars on him. The fast food employee didn't hesitate in lending a hand.

Robert Gooch was picking up lunch at a Chick-fil-A in Jackson, Mississippi. While he was standing in line and waiting to order, he decided to check his emails. While doing so, he heard a conversation at the front of the line.
The customer was a man carrying a backpack. From the state of his clothes, Robert guessed the man was down on his luck and homeless. He had a five-dollar bill on him, but it was the only money he had. He had asked the lady behind the counter, Karina, about the items on the menu and realized that his money wasn't enough.

Karina, it turns out, is a very wonderful person. She gave him some suggestions on what to order and asked him what he wanted to drink. The man hesitated, thinking that he couldn't possibly afford the meal. But then Karina told him that his meal was on her. There was no need for him to worry.
Robert was absolutely surprised. He shared the story on Facebook because he wanted to give people hope that there are still people like Karina in the world. He also wanted to inspire others to be like the young woman at the fast food shop to be kind and generous to those who are less fortunate than us.
He further wrote on Facebook:
"It would have been so easy to turn around and ask the manager to step in or for help but she didn’t she just said hey it’s on me. She could have just gave him water and took his money and went on to the next customer and again she didn’t she just did it."

Robert went on to say that he had been in customer service for a long time and has seen many service trainings, but it was Karina's humility and kindness that floored him. He went on to write in his post that restaurants and fast food shops don't just become successful because of the food. They're successful because of employees like Karina.
It's in how we treat those who have less than us that show who we truly are as people.
