Picture Of Cops ‘Working’ Gains Viral Attention After Mom Exposes Truth About What They Were Really Caught Doing
An image of three cops went viral after a mom from Arp, Texas, posted it on social media. Although the picture appears to have captured the three men working, the mother revealed what they were really caught doing, and now, people can’t stop talking about it.
Sherry Lynn Hillard is the mother of an autistic boy named John, who is a fan of the popular kids’ show “Blues Clues.” Unfortunately, when he realized that he didn’t own a shirt like the host of the show, he became very upset and eventually escalated into a fit of rage that led Sherry to seek the help of her local law enforcement. However, nothing could have prepared her for what she would catch the officer’s doing once they arrived, which compelled her to immediately snap a photo and share it on her Facebook page.
“In the last week I’ve had 6 police officers in my home because my son’s meltdowns turned to rage,” she began in her now-viral post. “With so much negativity shown towards law enforcement lately, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show my appreciation for the empathy these officers had for my son.”
She explained that when the officers arrived, they admitted that they knew nothing about autism but took the incident as an opportunity to learn about what it is and how they could help. Instead of just showing up to calm the child, they instead asked a lot of questions to ensure they didn’t upset him worse and helped themselves learn how to handle the situation in the future, according to IJ Review.
After she explained to the officers what John was upset over, the cops immediately took matters into their own hands and proved just how devoted police officers are to their communities. “After calming him down, the officers went and bought a blue shirt and with Jenn’s fabric markers they attempted to create the shirt John wants,” she recalled in awe. “That’s what this pic is, 3 officers going above and beyond to help a severely autistic teenage boy!”
Although the officers took the time to attempt to design a shirt John would appreciate, they were unsuccessful. However, Sherry’s post was seen by Cutting Edge Designs, and the folks there were able to create a shirt John approved of. Thankfully, all because of the kindness of these officers, an autistic boy got to live a day at ease, wearing the shirt he desired.
There aren’t many people who would go above and beyond for a complete stranger, much less someone who has been diagnosed with autism and appears to be acting out in ways the rest of us simply don’t understand. However, these three police officers proved to the entire nation that good people still exist
