He Didn't Know How Objects Kept Getting Cleaned Up in His Shed So He Begins Recording to Solve the Mystery

After watching “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo,” we definitely joined many other Netflix subscribers and jumped on the donating and organizing bandwagon. While we wouldn’t say that we actually love tidying up, it certainly feels good to get rid of clutter. Apparently, it even reduces anxiety and stress to have a clutter-free home.

Over in England, we’re not sure if Stephen Mckears has heard of Marie Kondo or her cleaning methods, but if he has, he certainly wasn’t using them in his shed. Like many sheds, it has quite a few things inside, and he doesn’t always put everything away when he is done working inside.

Mckears started to notice that things like screws and clips weren’t always where he left them. He remembered not putting them away, but when he would return to the shed the next day, they were all neatly organized and where they belonged.

This was a real head-scratcher at first. He really had no idea what was going on. Maybe his memory was fuzzy, or maybe he was losing his mind. He also considered the idea of a ghost coming in and cleaning up after him, but why would such a thing happen?

He even tested whatever it was by deliberately dumping out everything that was in a plastic bin and scattering the contents around the shed. Sure enough, the next day, everything was back in the bin where it belonged. He couldn’t figure it out, but he had to know what was going on.

He recruited the help of his neighbor, Rodney Holbrook, who is a wildlife photographer. They set up a camera to hopefully capture whatever it was in action.

When they watched the footage, they were certainly surprised. It wasn’t a ghost, and Mckears was not going crazy. Apparently, he had a neat-freak mouse living in his shed. From midnight to about 2:30am, the mouse cleaned up the mess Mckears left for him, lifting heavy items one after another until everything was put away.

Don’t believe us? Watch this shed-cleaning mouse in action in the video below.

This video kind of gives us a new respect for mice. If only we could get our kids to clean up their rooms as well as this mouse cleans up Mckears shed! Comments over on YouTube agree. If this mouse can do it, none of us have any excuses.

Have you ever seen a mouse tidy up like this before?
