Since Minimum Wage Is Now Being Increased, These Robots Will Replace The Workers At Walmart
By FoxIsHere

Major companies look for any way to save money. And the most common way for them to cut back costs is to pay their employees as little as possible. Theses corporations figure that if someone is willing to do a job for less money, they win. But as the federal and local state governments decide that workers deserve more money per hour of their time, these companies have no choice but to face the reality that the minimum wage is increasing.
Although you’d think that these companies would just suck it up and pay their employees the extra few dollars per hour, they would rather invest millions of dollars in technology that could render the employees’ jobs obsolete. In that case, they don’t have to pay anyone a salary, which treats the company’s bottom line very nicely.

Besides Amazon, the company leading the charge to find ways to replace their employees in Walmart. The company just released a statement indicating how the first job they’d like to take off their payroll are the janitors. In an unprecedented move, Walmart will replace 360 human janitors with robots equipped with artificial intelligence. These smart robots will render basic cleaning jobs obsolete in dozens of stores across the United States before Christmas.
Walmart’s fleet of autonomous robot janitors is highly efficient. They not only work around the clock without the need for breaks, but they also can clean the floors safely while customers are nearby.
Although the robot does require a person to map its cleaning route, once that is set, the robot can work on autopilot – literally. This machine follows the store plan and cleans every inch of the space without issuing one complaint about its low wages.

Like the vacuum robots you can buy to clean your apartment, Walmart’s fleet of robot janitors use sensors to monitor surroundings, so no robot smashes into customers.
These autonomous janitors are BrainOS-powered and need an employee to map a cleaning route. It will then avoid the people and obstacles using its sensors.

In a statement, Brain Corp CEO Dr. Eugene Izhikevich said, “We are thrilled to partner with Walmart to enhance customer experience at its retail locations. BrainOS technology allows robots to effectively and safely function in complex, crowded environments, ensuring increased productivity and efficiency across applications. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Walmart to help build intelligent, connected stores.”
Walmart has been trying to automate their stores for years now. And now that they are replacing humans with robots, they feel they are achieving their mission.

These robot janitors are not the first mind-boggling technology Walmart has committed to using in its stores. Recently, we reported how Walmart plans to use “smart” shopping carts to track customer heart rates so they can tell if a person gets excited about a deal or sale. The smart cart will also track where you travel around the store and try to sell you on items as you pass through the shop.
