The troubling news was just reported that a voluntary peanut recall has expanded and now covers at least 15 states and areas of Canada. The recall is due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.


The recall was issued out of caution, as the products may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The organism can lead to infections and is particularly dangerous for those with weakened immune systems.

According to Inspired Organics LLC, the product was distributed out of Warren, Michigan through Lipari Foods. The types of peanut butter were sent all over Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Additionally, products were sent to Ontario, Canada.
The manufacturer of the Inspired Organics products is Oskri Corporation of Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The company complied with the FDA out of an “abundance of caution.”
As of the time of the voluntary recall, no illnesses had been reported.
