Santa Asks Blind Boy What He Wants, Hears 4 Words That Leaves Him Teary Eyed

Just because a baby is born with a few challenges right at the very start of their life doesn't make them any different from the rest of us. We all have challenges we're meant to overcome, but we also have wishes, dreams, and a list of gifts we want Santa Claus to give us!
Misty Wolf's little boy, Matthew, certainly has a few hurdles of his own, but he's still a regular kid. Like all children, he loves it when Christmas time rolls around, so when mom took Matthew to "see" Santa Claus for the very first time, he couldn't hold back! When he lovingly touched Santa's face and asked him for one very special wish, the entire room was brought to tears.
Dressing up as Santa Claus ever year and "granting" wishes has to be the best job in the world, especially if you love bringing cheer to children's lives! All the various Santa's out there are probably used to having crying babies, hyperactive kids, and non-stop chatter mouths sit in their laps. But, Misty wanted to make sure that this particular Santa understood that her son was very touchy-feely. On her Facebook page, she said:
"I whispered to Santa “he is blind and autistic and is very interested in Santa”. He said “say no more” and immediately got down on the floor to greet my little man. He talked to Matthew for a long time. Let him feel all over him. Told him to pull his beard, feel his hat and talked about his red suit."
Like a jolly good grandpa, St. Nick was very patient and understanding with the blind, autistic boy. The look of absolute compassion and love in his eyes says it all!
Matthew took his time getting a feel for what the famous character from his bedtime storybooks actually looked like. Santa's hat, his scruffy white beard, that big red reindeer nose - none of it was off limits! But, there was one thing Matthew couldn't quite get a feel for.
"He asked Matthew if he wanted to feel anything and Matthew said “your eyes that twinkle” (from the poem ‘twas the night before Christmas) so santa let him touch all over his eyes for as long as Matthew wanted."
Touching another person's face is quite an intimate gesture, and is usually only reserved from close friends and family members. But, this very patient man didn't hesitate in letting down his guard and allowing Matthew to get a good "look" at him, for as long as the boy wanted!
Just when Matthew thought he had felt the twinkle in Santa's eye, an even bigger twinkle appeared! Santa went one step further, and asked the boy if he had ever felt a real reindeer!
"Santa then carried him over to the display area. And had Matthew pet the taxidermy reindeer they had set up. It was great. My heart was full seeing Matthew so interested."
It's so priceless and precious to see the compassionate interaction between this little boy and Santa. This kind man showed everyone the true Christmas - the best gifts are ones that come straight from the heart.
