Family discovers scary thing growing inside their water meter, reaches out to social media to help identify it

An internet user who might be named Robbie (the name is part of his screen name) went onto Imgur, the image sharing site, for help identifying something incredible. He found THIS monstrosity growing in his water meter and it’s rather alarming looking to say the least.

He posted the following:
Imgur, can you help? My parent’s opened their water meter box for the first time in ages, and found this inside. We have no idea what it is. The box is probably 20x40cm. There were flies buzzing around but no other animals we can see. Kinda afraid to remove it until we know what it is.
People responded mostly with jokes about how terrifying it is to look at. Some people said he should move out of the country. One user pointed out, “Even the water tries to kill you in Australia.”
After making jokes about how it appeared to come straight out of a horror movie, one user finally messaged him with the answer. It’s a nest for Tetragonulas which are a harmless type of bee that don’t even sting. It’s also known as the “sugarbag bee.”
So it’s a lot scarier than it looks. That’s a good thing!
