Cop Reveals A Useful Safety Tip That Not Many Drivers Know About Or Utilize
By Dreamer

In this day and age, car companies put in their best efforts to ensure our safety, and have made incredible technological advances over the years. From hands-free cell phone features, to back-up cameras, and even cars that have automatic braking - it's amazing what they've come up with to make driving a little less dangerous.
But since not all of us own newer cars, does that mean our vehicles have to be any less safe? As one officer in the video below shares there's actually a brilliant safety feature that comes standard in all vehicles.

Officer John Perrine works for the Indiana State Police Department. He decided to create a video in order to show off this incredible car feature, which has been known to help save lives when used.
He explains to viewers:
"What if I told you there's a feature on every car that's standard that'll not only prevent crashes, but also help prevent road rage..."
The officer then heads over to his police vehicle to get an up close look at where it's located. It turns out you can find this feature while sitting in the driver's seat.

Officer Perrine then gets near to the open window to point out that the feature is next to the steering wheel. It's a long stick just to the left of it - and it's called a "turn signal."
Keeping a straight face he goes on to show everyone how exactly one works. By pushing the turn signal down the officer demonstrates how it makes lights flash not only on the front left side of the vehicle, but in the back as well.
But that's not all! By pushing it up the same kind of lights appear on the right side of the vehicle - which are a great safety tool for making turns or lane changes.

As with anything, there are of course some stipulations that go along with using a turn signal. Officer Perrine says:
"It may require that you put down your coffee or cell phone, or whatever you have in your hands so that you can drive safely."
He closes it up reminding us that not only is it the law to use your turn signal, but it's also a courteous way of letting others know that you're going to turn or change lanes.
The officer ends it on:
"So please, use your turn signal."
It's powerful message presented in a very unique way that's spread across the internet. There's a reason it's been viewed more than 15 million times!
You can watch Officer Perrine's clever video about this sometimes overlooked safety feature below.
