Popular TV Star Attempted To Buy A Homeless Man New Clothes, Until Store Employee Stopped Him

Many people know about the huge red retail store that society knows as Target, although many people are not a fan of their cheap and convenient nature. At Target, you can practically buy anything! They have it all, from electronics to kids clothes to groceries. For parents, the store can be a godsend as many different errands turn into one stop at Target. But the company is now under fire for a policy that has enraged Desperate Housewives actor John Barrowman recently.
Barrowman took to Twitter to rant about an incident he recently experienced at Target. The actor was clearly absolutely furious about an interaction he had at the retail giant while trying to buy a homeless man some much-needed clothes.

While most of us simply ignore the homeless or toss them some spare change at best, Barrowman is using his resources to treat this homeless man to a new coat and a gift card. It’s more than most of us can afford, but it’s completely refreshing to see a celebrity use their wealth to help people instead of spending more of it on selfish desires.
The Arrow star didn’t just type up his rant though, but instead captured it in all it’s glory directly from the Target parking lot. This famous actor couldn’t even wait until he was in his car to film this rant, showing just how much he cares about the homeless problem in Los Angeles and California as a whole.
Barrowman went into the West Hollywood Target with the homeless man after meeting him outside. He helped the gentleman pick out a nice jacket and a shirt, and also grabbed a $40 gift card to add on to his selfless act. They walked together up to the register when suddenly an employee stopped the actor in his path.
“I just bought a $40 gift certificate and a jacket and a shirt for a homeless person, and I was just lectured by the Target staff that I was not allowed to do that,” he said in the self-recorded clip.
His almost 500,000 followers all got to hear about how the employee continued to lecture the 51-year-old man on who he was allowed to purchase items for, understandably inciting Barrowman’s rage. Life is tough enough for those who are unlucky enough to become homeless, and yet these Target employees decided to ruin an amazing act of kindness from a man who clearly cares about this terrible situation.
Homelessness is a massive issue in America, and we all need to do our best to help out each and every one of these struggling American citizens. 57,849 out of the estimated 1.56 million homeless Americans are military veterans, and clearly the system has failed these brave men and women. Defeating homelessness isn’t a red issue, it isn’t a blue issue, it’s an American issue and we are going to need to work together to figure out how to better care for the millions of struggling people right here in our own country.
What do you think we could start doing to care for the homeless better than we currently do? Share in the comments and keep all those who are struggling close to your heart today.
