Immediately, her wonderful voice spread across the theater and the judges were left completely shocked! You don't hear a beautiful, soulful sounding artist like this everyday. While most of us think of Whitney Houston when "I Will Always Love You" plays on the radio, the song was actually the brainchild of another famous songstress. Dolly Parton originally wrote "I Will Always Love You" in 1974 for her former business partner and music mentor, Porter Wagoner. Instead of separating professionally with ill feelings towards one another, Dolly wanted to honor the business relationship they shared with kind words. Shortly after the song broke onto the music scene, it shot up to the top spot. Since its release, musicians like Whitney Houston and this contestant have tried their hand at covering it.
