If You Owned These 14 Things In The 90s; They Can Make You Very Rich Right Now
By Mike-Ross

Ah, nostalgia. Remembering those fine days as a child of playing certain video games or playing with certain toys always brings joy to us. There is no better or more memorable time than the time you share as a child; these are your growing years, the years that shape you into who you are.
If you’re like me and are young (ish) enough to have spent your childhood years in the last decade of the 20th century, your memories of the 90s are probably bound up in cosy blankets, stuffed toys, Disney films and Saturday morning cartoons.
The weird thing is that most of the stuff which makes you nostalgic is popular culture you probably never thought you’d miss at the time. That same stuff makes other people nostalgic too, and can transform some miscellaneous detritus into priceless treasure. That’s the thing about antiques: you’ll never know what will be valuable. There’s loads of memorabilia out there from our childhoods that could be worth big bucks. If you own any of this stuff then you might have unwittingly made a grand investment.
1. “Beauty and the Beast” on VHS = $1000

2. “Halloween Havoc “96” VHS = $200

3. Vintage Lego sets = $500

4. Special Hot Wheels = $1100

5. Super Copa SNES cartridge = $120

Although it seems incredible, there are many video game cartridges out there that’ll make you mega-rich damn fast. Super Copa is a South American version of the North American soccer game, Tony Meola’s Sidekicks Soccer. Although it was available in South America through a distributor named Playtronic, there is a second version of the game with different box and label artwork, that doesn’t include the Playtronic branding anywhere. Because of this game, collectors will pay through the nose for a special copy, shelling out as much as $6000. But there’s a special copy of a particular book that’ll make you a lot of cash if you’ve got it on your shelf.
6. Furby = $100/700

7. Super Soaker Monster X = $95-$100

8. Harry Potter 1st edition = $4000

9. TY Beanie Babies = $400

10. Yu-Gi-Oh cards = $1000

Many Harry Potter fans have speculated who the mysterious wizard is on the back of first edition copies of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s too young to be Dumbledore – I’d always assumed it was Nicolas Flamel. Turns out that he was meant to be a generic wizard, modelled on the father of illustrator Thomas Taylor. Taylor was asked to replace this figure with Dumbledore when confused readers complained that he didn’t resemble Dumbledore in the book. Mystery solved! But there are even more 90’s toys and gadgets that can provide a serious windfall if you still have them.
11. Magic The Gathering original cards = $1400

12. Polly Pocket sets = $500.00

13. Nintendo World Championships Cartridge = $10,000

14. Tamagotchi = $100

Yes, for those millennials who lived through them, the 90s will always be a special time. But a lot of the comfy memories of those bygone years that we take for granted will seem pretty strange and alienating to future generations.
