HE DECLARED HE WOULD MARRY HER BACK IN PRESCHOOL. 20 YRS LATER, HIS DREAM CAME TRUE

Do you remember your first crush? Maybe it was in kindergarten when you shared your snack with a buddy. Or maybe it was back in elementary school when someone made a nice comment about what you were wearing. Child crushes are extremely sweet and genuine, and this pair from Phoenix made a promise to get married to each other when they were in preschool together. The amazing thing is, twenty years later, they followed through on that promise.
Matt told the tale of when he got up in front of his class in preschool and told the class that he was in love with Laura. He said that was one of his earliest memories, and he still feels the same way today. In fact, he says he was, and still is, nothing but enamored by her.
“We did almost everything together,” Laura added. “We would just have a blast together.”
“Lion King was what all the kids were into back then so we would spend most of our time reciting lines from the movie on the playground,” Matt said. “I remember trying to impress her during a Cinco De Mayo celebration at the preschool where we were trying to break open a piñata. Fortunately, I was the kid who managed to do it and I assume it got her attention.”
After this, they went to different elementary schools and they lost touch. It wasn’t until middle school that they reconnected through mutual friends. They hit it off again, and since then they have been together. The two are now inseparable and in total love.
Matt popped the question in May of 2015 at the same preschool they met each other at. Not expecting anything, Laura thought they were simply going there to have a picnic. She certainly got a shock when he dropped to one knee and talked to her about how he had loved her ever since they met at that preschool all those years ago.
“The whole car ride to the preschool she kept asking me why I seemed anxious. I kept checking my pocket when she wasn’t looking to make sure the ring was still there,” Matt joked. “I dropped down on one knee while my brother came in with the phone, snapping photos. Laura was shocked. I gave her my pitch on why I wanted her to marry me and she said yes.”
We are happy for the two love birds and are glad that true and pure love like this exists. This is so beautiful and we hope they two have a happy, healthy marriage.
